AI Connector for Claude and ChatGPT
Last updated: October 7, 2026
The AI Connector lets Claude and ChatGPT work with the data you already have in Insytical. Ask about your campaigns, social posts, sales, deals, projects and invoices in plain language — and, when you allow it, let your assistant draft and schedule Instagram and Facebook posts in Content Studio, save drafts for LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Snapchat, prepare ad campaigns for you to publish, or have Insytical write the post and make its pictures and videos for you. It is included on every Insytical plan, and in the free trial.
1. What your assistant can do
1.1 Read and explain
- Marketing and social analytics — ad campaign results across Meta, Google, TikTok and Snapchat, social post performance, best times to post, AI insights and competitor reports.
- Sales analytics — revenue, orders, products, customers, risk and forecasts from your connected stores.
- Deals, projects, vendors and expenses — your pipeline and project money, with the same visibility you have in the app.
- Invoices, goals and reports, and email campaigns, contacts, segments and bookings.
- Your account — workspace, plan, connected platforms and team.
1.2 Create and schedule posts (with your OK)
When you allow it on the connection screen, your assistant can create, edit, schedule, publish, cancel and delete Instagram and Facebook posts in Content Studio, attach images or videos from your Insytical media library, and build Instagram carousels of 2-10 image slides. It can also save posts for LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Snapchat as drafts on your calendar, for you to post yourself — Insytical publishes to Instagram and Facebook only. Both Claude and ChatGPT ask for your confirmation before anything goes live, and nothing is ever published without an explicit yes.
1.3 Make images, videos and AI posts (with your OK — and your credits)
This is its own box on the connection screen, Create images and videos with AI, next to Create and schedule posts; both are ticked to start. Left ticked, it lets your assistant use Insytical's own AI: write a post's caption and make its picture from a short brief and your brand kit (for Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn — a LinkedIn post waits on your calendar for you to post), generate carousel slides, and make images and videos in Media Studio. These spend your AI credits and video allowance exactly as they do inside Insytical. Before each one, your assistant shows what will be made and what it costs, and nothing is charged until you say yes. Untick Create images and videos with AI to connect without any spending.
1.4 Prepare ad campaigns (you press Publish)
This is a third box on the connection screen, Prepare ad campaigns, also ticked to start. With it, your assistant can build complete campaign drafts for Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google Search, TikTok and Snapchat — audience, budget, dates, ad copy, and images or videos from your Media Studio library — and run the same launch check as the campaign wizard. It never publishes a campaign and never spends your ad budget: it asks you for the budget and dates instead of suggesting them, then gives you a link to the wizard's review screen, where you check every detail and press Publish yourself. LinkedIn campaigns are still set up in the wizard.
2. Before you start
- An Insytical account on any plan, or in its free trial. What your assistant can see follows your workspace and, for team members, their permissions — exactly as in the app.
- Claude: custom connectors are available on Free (one connector), Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. On Team and Enterprise an organisation owner adds the connector first, then each person connects their own Insytical account.
- ChatGPT: custom connectors need a paid plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu) with Developer mode switched on. On Business, Enterprise and Edu an admin has to allow it. Plus and Pro can read your data but cannot create posts or prepare campaigns.
- Posting needs a Facebook Page or Instagram account connected under Integrations → Marketing platforms. Drafts for the other platforms need no connection.
- Making images and videos, AI-written posts and carousel slides uses your plan’s monthly AI allowance, the same as inside Insytical.
- Preparing ad campaigns needs a Meta, Google, TikTok or Snapchat ad account connected under Integrations → Marketing platforms.
Your server URL is shown under Integrations → AI assistants inside Insytical, with a one-click copy. For the ordinary Insytical account it is https://backend-staging.insytical.com/mcp.
3. Connecting Claude
- In Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app), open Settings → Connectors.
- Click Add custom connector, name it Insytical, paste the server URL above and click Add.
- Click Connect. A window opens: sign in to Insytical if you are asked to, review what Claude may see, choose whether it may also create and schedule posts, make images and videos with AI and prepare ad campaigns, and click Allow.
- In a chat, turn the Insytical connector on from the tools menu and ask away.
4. Connecting ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
- Back under Connectors, click Create. Name it Insytical, paste the server URL above, keep authentication on OAuth and click Create.
- Click Connect. Sign in to Insytical if you are asked to, review what ChatGPT may see and click Allow.
- In a chat, pick Insytical from the tools menu and ask away. ChatGPT shows an approval card before every action that changes something.
5. Things to try
- “Show me my analytics across all platforms for the last 30 days. Which platform grew the most?”
- “What were my top 5 Instagram posts this month by engagement rate? Explain why each worked.”
- “How are my Meta ads performing this month — spend, impressions, clicks and cost per result?”
- “Compare my active campaigns across Meta, Google and TikTok. Where is the best return right now?”
- “Write me a weekly report: reach, engagement, top post and three takeaways.”
- “Which deals are stuck, and which projects are over budget?”
- “Show me everything scheduled for next week. Any gaps?”
- “Create five posts for this week across Instagram and Facebook on the theme of productivity tips, and schedule them at my best posting times.”
- “Shorten Saturday's Instagram caption and add three hashtags.”
- “Write and design an Instagram post about our weekend brunch menu — show me what it will cost first — and schedule it for Saturday at my best time.”
- “Make a 10-second vertical video of our new candle for a Reel. Tell me the cost before you start.”
- “Have Insytical write a LinkedIn post with a picture announcing our new branch — tell me the cost first — and save it as a draft for Thursday.”
- “Turn Saturday's Instagram post into an X post and a TikTok caption, and save both as drafts.”
- “Prepare a Meta campaign for our weekend sale. Ask me for the budget and dates, then give me the link to review and publish it.”
Start with a question about your account — your assistant will tell you which areas your workspace can use, and its currency and time zone.
6. Permissions and security
- Connections use OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, the same standard the major platforms use. Your assistant never sees your Insytical password.
- You decide on the connection screen what it may access. Reading is listed area by area; Create and schedule posts, Create images and videos with AI and Prepare ad campaigns are three separate boxes, all ticked to start. Untick any of them, or all three to connect read-only.
- Access is limited to the one workspace you connected, and your plan and team permissions apply on every request — an assistant can never see more than you can.
- Every action an assistant takes is recorded, and you can see it under Settings → Connected apps → Recent AI activity: owners and admins see what every assistant in the workspace did, everyone else what their own did. Text written by customers or third parties (a booking note, a scraped competitor page) is handed to your assistant as data to report, never as instructions.
- Disconnect at any time under Settings → Connected apps; every token that assistant holds stops working immediately. Removing the connector inside Claude or ChatGPT works too.
7. Good to know
- Publishing is Instagram and Facebook only. The drafts your assistant saves for LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Snapchat wait on your calendar for you to post yourself.
- Instagram needs an image or video; Facebook can post text alone. Instagram carousels take 2-10 image slides, from your media library or made by AI.
- With Create and schedule posts allowed, your assistant can also add an image or video to your Media Studio library from a public link — a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB, or an MP4, MOV or WebM up to 100 MB — and then put it on a post. The link has to serve the file itself, not a web page, and nothing is charged.
- Your assistant can also look at the pictures already on your posts and in your Media Studio library — a small preview of each, with its five main colours — so what it makes next can match your style. Looking costs it a little of its own context, never your credits.
- Anything your assistant makes with AI — a post's caption and picture, carousel slides, images, videos — spends the same AI credits and video allowance as inside Insytical. You see the cost first, and what is made lands in your Media Studio library or on the post.
- Amounts stay in the currency each platform reports and are never converted or added across currencies.
- Follower counts are not tracked, and competitor information is what your Competitor Analysis feature has already generated.
- Until you connect a platform there is nothing for your assistant to read, and it will tell you so rather than guess.
8. Troubleshooting
- “This request has expired.” Connection requests last a few minutes. Close the window and start again from your assistant.
- “This account can’t connect an AI assistant.” Sign in with the Insytical account whose workspace you want to connect — platform administrator accounts have no workspace data to share.
- The connect screen stops at the workspace’s plan. Every Insytical plan includes the connector, so this means the workspace has no active plan: its free trial has ended or its subscription has lapsed. Whoever manages billing for it — the account owner, or your agency if one runs it — can choose a plan under Plans. Then start again from your assistant. A connection made earlier works again within a minute of choosing a plan.
- ChatGPT shows no posting or campaign tools. Creating posts and preparing campaigns needs a ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu plan with write actions allowed by your admin.
- The assistant says it can't make images or videos. That needs the “Create images and videos with AI” box, which is ticked to start when you connect, so check it wasn't unticked. Connections made before it existed don't have it: disconnect under Settings → Connected apps, connect again and leave the box ticked.
- The assistant says it can't prepare ad campaigns. That needs the “Prepare ad campaigns” box, which is ticked to start when you connect, so check it wasn't unticked. Connections made before it existed don't have it: disconnect under Settings → Connected apps, connect again and leave the box ticked.
- The assistant says connected but answers with errors. Remove the connector in the assistant and connect again, or disconnect it under Settings → Connected apps first.
